MYCI-BC Road Show in Malaysia, February 2025 – The Malaysia-Côte d’Ivoire Business Council (MYCI-BC) is on the move!

Our Road show in Malaysia, with our MYCI-BC President Mr. Mohamed Razali Mohamed, together with Dr. Adjo Danielle Patricia Gnandji, from the Embassy of Cote d’Ivoire, Japan; Tech Rep of Animal and Fishery Resources and Food Security as well as Chief Commissioner of Cote d’Ivoire to the International Whaling Commission; is connecting with visionary companies eager to explore investment opportunities in Côte d’Ivoire—one of West Africa’s fastest-growing economies.

From industry leaders to emerging innovators, we’re fostering strategic partnerships that drive growth, sustainability, and shared success.

Strategic Business Engagements in Malaysia

Mr. Mohamed Razali and Dr. Gnandji recently engaged in high-level discussions with NextGreen Global Berhad, a publicly listed company on Bursa Malaysia specializing in sustainable waste-to-resource solutions.

NextGreen Global Berhad is at the forefront of converting oil palm waste into valuable products such as paper pulp, fertilizer, animal feed, and other agricultural by-products from cocoa, palm, coconut, rice, and cashew. The company has expressed strong interest in expanding its operations into Côte d’Ivoire and the broader West African region.

During their visit to Malaysia, Mr. Razali and Dr. Gnandji held strategic meetings with key industry leaders, including:
• Japanese multinational representatives based in Kuala Lumpur, exploring investment opportunities in social housing, power plant development, and transmission line projects in Côte d’Ivoire.
• Berjaya Group Berhad, the franchise owner of Kenny Rogers and Paris Baguette, discussing potential market expansion.
• The Director General of WorldFish, part of CGIAR, the world’s largest consortium of agricultural and aquaculture scientists, to explore collaboration in sustainable fisheries and food security.
• The CEO and Executive Director of Alpha Ocean Resources Berhad, Malaysia’s leading deep-sea tuna fishing and sashimi processing company, to discuss opportunities in the seafood industry.
• The CEO of Terrasonde Afrika SA, a specialist in geophysical exploration for oil, gas, and minerals, examining resource development prospects.
• Solution Group Berhad, for the establishment of a Black Soldier Fly meal factory and an Aqua Feed factory in Malaysia and Abidjan, supporting the region’s sustainable agriculture and aquaculture sectors.

In addition to these engagements, they had the opportunity to dine with committee members of MYCI-BC and WorldFish, fostering deeper relationships and discussions on strategic collaboration.

These engagements reflect a concerted effort to foster international partnerships, drive investment, and support sustainable economic growth across key sectors in Côte d’Ivoire and West Africa.

Meeting with Minister of Agriculture and Food Security – On 30th of May 2024, HE Minister Sidi Toure met with Dato Seri Mohamad Sabu, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Malaysia to explore further collaboration in fisheries, aquaculture and livestock, enhancing investments and expertise which will play a significant role towards more prosperous and sustainable future for both countries. MYCI-BC Chairman and President were part of the delegation for the meeting.

MYCI-BC Dinner to welcome HE Minister Toure – On 29th of May, 2024, Malaysia Cote d’Ivoire Business Council (MYCI-BC) organised a dinner, hosted by our corporate partner Sunview Group Berhad, to welcome HE Minister Sidi Tiémoko Toure, from the Ministry of Animal and Fisheries Resources (MIRAH), Cote d’Ivoire, Mr. Modibo Samake, Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister, Mrs. Ziola Leroux Roux, Chief of Staff MIRAH and Dr. Adjo Danielle Patricia Gnandji, Director of Livestock Production MIRAH.

The dinner was attended by MYCI-BC Board members, including Chairman Dato Haji Sohaimi Shahadan, Founding President, Mohamed Razali Mohamed, and guests from corporate and business sectors.

Minister Touré spearheads national strategies aimed at propelling Côte d’Ivoire’s fisheries sector forward, placing particular emphasis on fostering the growth of aquaculture. He is a pivotal figure in advancing Cote d’Ivoire’s aquaculture and responsible fish farming practices, with commitment to sustainable development. In his speech, Minister Toure introduced MIRAH and his objectives for his trip to Malaysia, with his vision to enhance bilateral relations and cooperation between Cote d’Ivoire and Malaysia.
