About MYCI-BC

Malaysia Cote d’Ivoire Business Council (MYCI-BC) is registered with the Registrar of Societies, (registration number: PPM028-14-04032024) under the Ministry of Home Affairs in Malaysia.

MYCI-BC mission is to encourage bilateral trade and investments between Malaysia and Cote d’Ivoire by being a platform for facilitating and developing businesses from both countries for mutual benefit.

Our mission at MYCI-BC is:

  1. To be the meeting and networking platform for the business community in Malaysia and Cote d’Ivoire and to create two-way business opportunities between the two countries
  2. To implement trade missions between Malaysia business community to Cote d’Ivoire and vice-versa
  3. To be the main gateway for business and investment and credible source of information between the two countries
  4. To ease trade, investment, and business opportunities between Malaysia and Cote d’Ivoire
  5. To conduct training and seminars to enhance cross-cultural business communication

Our Team

MYCIBC is governed by Board of Directors elected by members at an Annual General Meeting every two years, and comprise of entrepreneurs, business thought leaders, high-level corporate leaders, government and public officials.

 

 

DATO’ SOHAIMI SHAHADAN CHAIRMAN

Dato’ Sohaimi Shahadan, recently appointed MYCI-BC Chairman, has been conferred many awards during his career including Jaksa Pendamai JP Kedah Darulaman, Darjah Indera Mahkota Pahang DIMP Pahang Darul Makmur and Anugerah Darjah Kinabalu ADK Sabah.

He is currently Chairman of: Trive Property Group Berhad, NextGreen Global Berhad (Formerly Known as BHS INDUSTRIES BERHAD), Welley Timber Industries Sdn Bhd, Quantum Solar Park Malaysia, Consolidated Fertiliser Corporation, LeBLANC Berhad, and has been Chairman and INED of numerous companies in Malaysia. He is also involved in many NGOs and Social services including Yayasan Jamin.

Dato Sohaimi graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (National University of Malaysia) in 2000 and obtained a master’s degree in business administration from West Coast Institute of Technology & Management, Perth, Australia in 2002. He also holds a master’s degree in Corporate Communication from University Pertanian Malaysia (Malaysia Agriculture University) in 2004.

He has been awarded Honorary Ph.D. from Geomatika University College for Entrepreneur achievement and works for Malaysia.

 

MR. MOHAMED RAZALI MOHAMED PRESIDENT

Mr. Mohamed Razali, MYCI-BC President, is the Chief Executive Officer of Aquagrow International Sdn Bhd (AGI), a leading supplier of fingerlings to fish farms worldwide, offering consultancy and farm management services, as well as designing and constructing land-based fish farms and offshore sea cages. AGI operates a 33-acre multi-species marine fish hatchery in Segari, Perak, Malaysia, along with several farms in the Middle East and Africa.

With 24 years of experience in the aquaculture and fisheries industry, Mr. Razali has demonstrated a remarkable journey of entrepreneurship and leadership. He began his career investing in various ventures, including a recirculating system hatchery in Adelaide, a live fish retailing venture, and a large Tilapia farm at Lake Kenyir. His recent focus has been on land-based offshore mariculture and seafood trading in the Middle East and Africa.

Actively engaged in the local and regional aquaculture and fisheries industry, Mr. Razali serves as the Protem Secretary of the Malaysian Aquaculture Industry Federation, Deputy President of the Marine Fish Farmers Association Malaysia, and member of the Malaysian Fisheries Society and the World Aquaculture Society. He advocates for sustainable practices and participates in regional programs organized by NGOs such as the Sustainable Seafood Program by World Wildlife Fund for Malaysia and the Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries, and Food Security.

Mr. Razali holds a degree in Surveying from the University of Tasmania and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Survey Practice from the Queensland University of Technology. Currently pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration from a prestigious European business school, he continues to expand his knowledge and expertise.

In addition to his professional endeavours, Mr. Razali actively contributes to volunteer work, serving on the boards of the Victoria Institution Old Boys Association Foundation and the Victoria Institution Kuala Lumpur. He also acts as an Advisor to the UCSI University Centre of Research in Advanced Aquaculture and the Universiti Putra Malaysia CEO @ PTJ University-Industry Program.

Recognized for his leadership and commitment to bilateral trade, Mr. Razali was recently elected as the Founding President of the Malaysia Côte d’Ivoire Business Council, facilitating trade relations between Malaysia and Côte d’Ivoire. His dedication to the aquaculture industry and his efforts to promote sustainable practices make him a valuable asset to both local and international communities.

 

HAZLINA HASHIM DEPUTY PRESIDENT

Hazlina is Founder and Managing Director of a PR consultancy company, Hazel Green PR since 2004. She has over 30 years of regional and international corporate experience in PR, Marketing, Communications and Senior Management, and is consultant to thousands of companies. She trains board members and CXO-level management on Crisis and Reputation Management, Sustainability Communications and Media training. Founder of MyPRCompany.com, the 1st interactive PR consultancy portal in 2021, she was named Top 25 Asia Pacific Innovator 2021 by Provoke Media.

Hazlina was an expatriate Managing Director based in London, UK to an e-commerce company, raising £10m funding with her Board, and former Marketing and Communications Director of a telco based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. She has a BSc in Mathematics from York University, Toronto and a Diploma in Personal Image Consulting. Hazlina is Fellow Member (FPRCA) of Public Relations and Communications Association of Malaysia.

 

GURCHARAN SINGH SECRETARY GENERAL

Gurcharan is a distinguished professional with over 27 years of expertise in the Tourism and Hospitality industry, complemented by a significant 7-year tenure in Academia. As a fervent advocate for the transformative power of education, Gurcharan has established himself as a trainer, consultant, successful entrepreneur, respected academic, and a dynamic trade developer.

His tenure as an active hotelier has endowed him with a profound understanding of the industry’s nuances. With an insightful perspective on the inherently challenging nature of the tourism and hospitality sectors, Gurcharan emphasizes the essentiality of qualities such as passion, endurance, patience, tolerance, and curiosity.

As SecGen, Gurcharan plays an instrumental role in enhancing bilateral trade relations, drawing from his vast business network that he has amassed over the years, contributing significantly to the economic development between these regions.

 

HARNARAIN SINGH GILL TREASURER

Harna is a seasoned media professional based in Malaysia, boasts extensive experience in entertainment industry facets such as production, post-production, content preparation, and media distribution. Currently serving as the Director of Schearar Entertainment Sdn. Bhd., Gill oversees a company renowned for its specialization in digitizing and restoring legacy media content, contributing significantly to cultural preservation. Beyond restoration, Schearar Entertainment engages in film, television, and creative content production, as well as live international event management.
Gill’s dedication to public service is evident through his public service roles as Madani Community Leader for Kinrara 2, Chairman of the PUJ2 Taman Puncak Jalil Residents Association, and Permanent Chairman PKR Subang Division. Holding an MBA from Lincoln University, Gill’s recent appointment as Elections & Communications Director of PKR Subang underscores his strategic prowess and commitment to fostering positive change in Malaysia.

JOHAN JUFLIS JUFFRI COMMITTEE, FINANCE & PROPERTIES

Johan is a Malaysian residing in Japan for almost 30 years, first came to Japan as a government-sponsored student under the Look East policy. After graduating from Yokohama National University, he joined NIS Group, an integrated financial services company, and helped them get listed in the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), maintain investors relation and managed an accounting section responsible for group accounting, US-GAAP and disclosures to regulators and stock exchanges. He then worked for Brown Brothers Harriman, a US-based private bank as a senior accountant and financial analyst. Subsequently, he worked for Dualtap, a Japanese property developer, and responsible for their Malaysian business, as he managed a wide range of operations including sales, management & tenant leasing of Malaysian real estate to Japanese investors, as well as advisory & supportation services for Japanese companies.

From 2015, he became an independent contractor and mainly focused on supporting Japanese companies in expanding their businesses in Malaysia, assisting Malaysian companies in expanding their businesses in Japan, engaging in trade, asset management, renewable energy, and various other businesses between Japan and Malaysia.

 

NAJMI RAHIMI MUZNI COMMITTEE, IT & TELECOMMUNICATIONS

Najmi is a Managing Director of NRM Technology, overseeing the development and implementation of business plans and strategies that address real-world problems. With over 15 years of experience in the tech industry, he has a strong background in product development, system maintenance, and IT project management, and is passionate about creating innovative solutions that make a positive impact through his work.

Najmi has a master’s degree in business administration and a bachelor’s degree in computer science, which equips him with the skills and knowledge to lead and manage cross­ functional teams, budgets, and risks. He has a keen interest in entrepreneurship and networking and enjoys attending industry events. His goal is to leverage my technical expertise, versatility, and enthusiasm to deliver high-quality products and services to clients and customers.

DIANNA TOH VICE-PRESIDENT, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

An engaging speaker, trainer, and business coach, Dianna Toh, the founder of Dianna Toh Resources, has a wealth of experience in corporate as well as business as a culmination of years of hands-on experience in corporate, new start-ups, and business transformation.

She has held senior positions at one of Malaysia’s largest financial institutions, managing finance and credit card marketing. She also served as the Country Head for Malaysia at a Hong Kong-based premium company. As Vice President of Marketing for Asia Pacific at Datascan, a subsidiary of Peremba IT, she established distribution channels for point-of-sale systems in Quick Service Restaurants.

She is a business coach with a portfolio of prominent clients, she embodies sincerity, passion, and a relentless drive for continuous improvement. Dianna’s positive mindset and dedication make her an exceptional coach, always going above and beyond for success.

Dianna is an Internationally Certified Neuro Linguistics Programming (NLP), Hypnosis, Time Line Therapy ®, NLP Coaching, and NLP Sales Trainer. She has graduated from Trainer’s Training by the world-renowned Tad James Company with flying colours.

LATT OMAR LATT SHARIMAN COMMITTEE, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Latt Omar is an experienced professional with tech and agricultural background and is currently CEO of Ruang Cikgu , Business Development Director of MQOil and EXCO Member, REGENERASI. After graduating in Psychology and Global Studies at Monash University, and University of Melbourne, he participated in the Youth Parliament of Malaysia actively engaging in legislative simulations and policy discussions.

At Ruang Cikgu, Omar leads initiatives on innovative e-learning solutions to make education more accessible through digital content, influencing approach to educational technology, enhancing learning experiences across various demographics.  As MQOil, Omar oversees trading of palm oil products, focusing on sustainable practices and ethical sourcing in the industry.  At REGENERASI, he leads strategic discussions and initiatives to improve the industry’s environmental stewardship and community impact. His practical approach, commitment and dedication has contributed highly to advancing both educational technology and sustainable agricultural practices.

AHMAD SYAHIR AHMAD RAZIFUDDIN DEPUTY SECRETARY GENERAL

Ahmad Syahir has 10 years of experience in the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) industry. He also joined the MARA OISCA Program in Japan, specifically in Shizuoka and Hamamatsu, from 2010 to 2013, where he studied Mechanical Manufacturing. Additionally, he holds the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test N4 certification. He obtained a Diploma in Mechanical Manufacturing through the Malaysia Government Program (SLDN – Ministry of Human Resource) in 2013. From 2013 to 2017, he served as a Director of a Japanese company based in Malaysia in the HVAC Industry. From 2017 to 2022, he held the position of Director in a Japanese company based in Malaysia in the Civil Construction Industry, specifically in Water Irrigation. Since 2023, he has been serving as the Director of Aquagrow International Sdn. Bhd. & Aquagrow Holding Sdn. Bhd. Syahir believes that his engineering knowledge can take aquaculture to the next level to contribute to sustainability programs and food security
